I often traverse varied terrains — my canvas becomes an urban landscape often captured through the lens of plein air painting, drawing from the vibrant cityscape. With expressive impressionism, the brushstroke on the canvas tries to breathe life into these scenes, conveying emotions within. My art also takes cosmic flights, exploring imaginative realms, while I try to breathe simplicity yet depth, with my ink drawings.
I embrace influences from the impressionists and artistic legacies such as Dali, Cezanne, and my mentor, Frank Mason. In addition, postmodern nuances weaved in with elements of abstract expressionism, may craft layers that invite interpretation.
As my style evolves, it converges towards an expressive impressionist approach, entwining the cosmic and semi-representational ink drawings. With each stroke I try to narrate stories of urban life, which becomes a dialogue between the tangible and the imaginative, between the city’s pulse and the cosmic expanse—a palette that may further invite to contemplation into the depth of emotions, and interpretations.
I am currently affiliated with Daphne Art in Brooklyn, NY, and I am also part of the City Corps NY.
